I'm a young teen going through rough times, and seeing Mr. Nash and his firehouse (almost) every Thursday brought me some sort of comfort. Pls bring him back or else I will drop the show and find something else to do on my Thursday nights:(

This episode completely undermined the very foundation of what made the show beloved in the first place. For years, viewers found solace in the balance between high-stakes emergencies and the emotional safety net of its central characters—its found family. That safety net is what made the chaos bearable. It allowed people to tune in, week after week, knowing they’d witness wild rescues and heart-pounding moments, but without the looming fear of losing a core member of the family we’ve grown to love. And now? That trust has been shattered. By killing off the “father” figure of the group—and doing so in a way that feels cheap and undeserved—the show has not only destroyed the emotional core of its narrative, but it’s done so while sidelining a major character who should’ve been central to this storyline. It’s not bold. It’s not “creative writing,” no matter what Tim wants to call it. It’s tired, contrived, and wildly disconnected from what audiences want—and frankly, what many people need—right now. Read the room. Read the news. The world is burning, both literally and figuratively. For so many, this “stupid little firefighter show” offered a glimmer of hope—a sunrise to look toward, even while storms raged around us. And instead of honoring that, the showrunners delivered a gut-punch and then had the audacity to describe themselves as “God” in interviews. This wasn’t brave. It was careless. And it betrayed the very heartbeat of the story. I’m giving this two stars for one reason only: the cast. Their performances continue to shine, even when the story gives them nothing to work with. The director also deserves credit for pulling something visually compelling out of a hollow script. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends. Season 8 has been a steady decline, and this episode felt like the final confirmation that the heart of the show is slipping away. If this is the creative vision Tim is steering toward, it’s hard not to worry about what’s coming in Season 9. They build these characters for us to love—ask us to invest in them, to see them as family, to believe in them. They wrap us in these stories, let us feel safe with them, like maybe—just maybe—there’s a corner of the world, even if it’s fictional, where love and loyalty and goodness win. And then they tear it all down. Not thoughtfully. Not for the sake of real, meaningful storytelling. But for shock. For noise. For something “bold.” But it’s not bold to add pain to a world that’s already drowning in it. It’s not brave to destroy something that gave people peace. Everyone is right in their reviews—it’s cruel. And it’s careless. And it leaves people like me, like all of us who loved this thing deeply, reeling. Because it mattered. These stories aren’t “just fiction.” They become anchors. Beacons. Lifelines. And when they’re treated like they don’t matter, it makes the ache so much deeper. We’re allowed to hate it. You should. We’re feeling the cost of a choice made by people who forgot that stories aren’t just content—they’re connection. And this one feels like it’s just been severed and I fear we won’t get it back.

hey so maybe taking a character who actively struggled with suicide for decades of his life and killing him off when he finally wants to live isn’t a good idea!! it actually enforces the message that characters suffering from depression and suicidal ideation will never get their happy ending and are doomed by the narrative because of it. it’s such an incredibly tacky and disrespectful way to write off a beloved character for “shock value”, the show will never be the same without him.

Was there an audit to determine if Harry and wife used Invictus funds for designer clothing, luxury hotels and travel? Also, Harry bragged about killing in Afghanastan. This is a sure sign of a man of low character
We did Pat's Run this year, and we teach our kids about the heroic life of Pat Tillman and many other men and women who have sacrificed themselves for others in the name of freedom. Harry is a HORRIBLE recipient for this award. It's DISGRACEFUL to give it to him, and SO DISRESPECTFUL to the kind of man Pat was and also to his loved ones. Please rethink this. There are far more honorable men and women deserving of this award.
